Samuel Eto’o has sealed his Chelsea
exit by labelling his manager Jose
Mourinho a “fool” and taking a swipe at fellow strikers Fernando
Torres and Demba Ba.
Mourinho was caught on camera by a French television station saying: “Eto’o is
32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?” Eto’o made light of the comments with an
‘old man’ celebration after scoring against Tottenham in March, but has
clearly not forgiven Mourinho.
The 33-year-old scored 12 goals for Chelsea, one more than 30-year-old Torres
and four more than 28-year-old Ba.
Eto’o is preparing for the World Cup with Cameroon and, when asked whether
this will be his last appearance at the tournament, the striker said:
“Thanks for informing me that it will be my last World Cup.
“Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man
that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was
better than the youngsters.”
